Why should seniors or anyone care about foot pain? It turns out a lot of us should think more about it. It’s important to not only take preventative measures with your feet like buying special shoes but also doing a regular check-up for deformities or injuries to your feet and toes you might not have noticed before.

Tips your mother gave you when trying on shoes that still stand today:

  1. Wear the same socks you would nornally wear with the shoes (bring sole inserts if you wear those too)
  2. Have both feet measure each time you go to the shoe store. Your feet are always chaning.
  3. Walk around in the shoes to make sure they feel comfortable, aren’t to snug and don’t slip.
  4. Trust the fit of the shoe not just the size written on the shoe.
  5. Always check out the soles of the shoe. They need to match the purpose of the shoe.
